Lisa Gargano of North Haven and John Hurylovich of Stratford formed Lisa's in 2007. Together they total 60+ years in the restaurant business, including ownership, management, cooking, waiter/waitressing and bartending. Their collective work history gives them the experience both on the line and on the floor. Lisa & John brought their experience, knowledge and family backgrounds together to form Lisa's. They share the same passion for authentic Italian recipes. John grew up in Brooklyn, New York where his mom Josephine prided herself on her "Brooklyn Gravy" and Meatballs. Lisa's mom, also named Josephine, taught Lisa her traditional dishes: Broccoli Rabe & Sausage, Pasta Fagioli, Steak Pizzaola to name a few. Two cooks with talented moms named Josephine----how could their kitchen go wrong? It can't ...... because at Lisa's their heart is in their cooking.
